Ricupo, which is also the name of the road on which the family estate is located, is produced from 100% Montepulciano grapes. The wine is ripe and mature, with an intensely ruby red color and rich fragrances of cherry, plum, dried herbs and earth. The taste is warm with juicy baked plum and blackberry flavors and lingering spiciness on the finish.

Founded in 1940, the Cantine d’Uva wine estate is located in the small Molise region, bordering the better known Abruzzi region. Nature, history, art, age-old traditions and good food are the treasures of this still largely undiscovered region which retains its “old-fashioned world” charm. Angelo d’Uva is the third generation winemaker at Cantine d’Uva who follows time-tested methods of production while thoughtfully using sensible modern techniques in the vineyard and the cantina.
Montepulciano is an easy companion at the table. In fact, lighter meats like chicken, veal and pork make superb accompaniments. Its dark fruits and fine tannins make it a juicy partner to grilled steaks or lamb chops drizzled with good olive oil. Fresh, aromatic herbs like rosemary and sage will play to the wine’s high notes, as will pungent sides like black olive tapenade. This easygoing wine will also be delicious with a simple appetizer platter of charcuterie and cheese.
Molise is the youngest Italian region, since it was established in 1963, when the region “Abruzzi e Molise” was split into two.
