Boira is a joint project between Piedmont’s Carlo Volpi and the Veneto’s Botter family and is focused on expressive organic wines from Italy. Vineyards and pressing facilities are located in different areas based on varieties planted. Grapes for this Pinot Grigio came from vineyards located near the city of Verona. The partnership is actively engaged in conscientious agricultural practices, with an energetic commitment to a less polluted world. Carlo’s approach to wine-making is highly scientific, with meticulous controls at every stage of the process so that high-quality grapes are transformed into high-quality wines.

Pinot Grigio is particularly refreshing on its own but I like the wine with my Antipasto Calabrese, which is a bit of everything—part salad, part vegetables, all graced with some tuna. Serve with a crusty loaf of Italian bread for a terrific lunch or light dinner.

Because both Carlo Volpi and the Botter family have strong links to the Alps, they like to say their winery runs with Swiss efficiency and Italian soul.
